Acquacotta ist ein traditionelles Gericht, das aus der Küstenregion der Toskana, die als Maremma bekannt ist, stammt. Direkt übersetzt bedeutet der Name "gekochtes Wasser" und repräsentiert damit seine Ursprünge als kleinbäuerliches Gericht. Es ist ein altes, historisches Gericht, das von Bergleuten, Köhlern, Bauern und Schafhirten in dieser Gegend gegessen wurde, die die Ärmsten der Armen waren. Trotz der bescheidenen Herkunft ist das Gericht auch heute noch besonders beliebt, wie so viele andere Speisen die aus der kleinbäuerlichen Küche stammen.

Landwirtschaftlicher Betrieb von 50 ha Grösse, umgeben von Wäldern, Olivenhainen und Weinbergen wie auch nahe zu Kunststätten und dem Meer gelegen. Die Ferienhäuser bilden einen kleinen Weiler, in welchem auch die Eigentümer wohnen, sie sprechen Deutsch, Französisch und Englisch. Mit Rücksicht auf die traditionelle Bauweise der toskanischen Bauernhäuser restauriert. E-Eingangstor. Alle Unterkünfte sind mit Heizung und typisch toskanischen Möbeln ausgestattet und alle verfügen über einen privaten Aussenbereich mit Grill. Den Gästen stehen grosszügige Grünbereiche und Wanderwege auf dem Gelände (5 km), ein überdachter Parkplatz und ein öffentliches Telefon zur Verfügung. Wein und Olivenöl des Landgutes sind vor Ort erwerbbar und auf Anfrage werden Weindegustationen und Abendessen organisiert. Bei einem Aufenthalt von mehr als 1 Woche wird für Bett- und Toilettenwäschewechsel 5 EUR/Pers. verlangt (auf Wunsch). We had a great time in Il Poggio. Large rustic house is very comfortable for up to 7 people and the terrace offers beautiful view at vineyards. Unfortunately, in the late September the pool was quite refreshing and that is why swimming was just for hardy ones. On the other hand, we could use fireplace every evening. The landlords are so nice and welcoming. They offer their own good home wine and oil.

We had stayed here before and previously found the experience amazing. We wanted to return but were extremely apprehensive when applying this time. The current application procedure under Easyresearve was ringing all bells and flashing red lights.

Zeer fijne plek! Mooi en goed ingericht huisje met airco. Keukengerij is minimaal, dus best wat goede messen en zo meenemen. Nog een tip: stopcontactenverdeler (gaten stopcontacten zijn te klein voor onze stekkers, eentje is oké) meebrengen en muggencréme (er zijn spijtig genoeg veel gemene muggen). Voor de rest: prachtig uitzicht, zeer mooie omgeving, leuk zwembad, lekkere wijn,... Goede uitvalbasis voor uitstappen naar de steden, mogelijk met de trein (half uurtje) naar Firenze. Vriendelijke uitbaatster!

The house in Poggio Nardini was a nice and clean house. Very near Florence (can be reached within half an hour by car). Poggio Nardini is a small Agriturismo with 7 appartments who all look nice and authentic. The beds were very well, but the kitchen and bathroom a bit older.
The only thing is that the three older sisters who run the place are very 'present'. For example, our children can swim very well (Dutch 'C diploma'), but weren't allowed to swim on their own in the pool, although we explained it to the sisters. We also found that the owners were a bit pushy with the weekly dinner on thursday. It didn't feel as if it was your own choice.
But over all we had a nice holiday in beautiful Tuscany.

Fabulous villa, the second time we have stayed here. Excellent service provided by the 3 sisters who run the property. They are very friendly and hospitable, even though sometimes the language barrier could be a bit of a problem. Our villa this time could house 7 adults although only 5 of us stayed so there was plenty of room. The rooms were spacious and tidy with lovely furniture in keeping with the style of the villa. We had amazing views across the vineyards and hillsides from our upper storey bedroom window. The pool was well maintained as were the grounds. A great new addition to the propety is the new wine cellar/hosting area where we enjoyed a wonderful four course meal one evening together with all the guests from the other villas. This was organised by the 3 sisters and was enjoyed by everyone.
For those of you driving to the villa, we did have a major hiccup following our directions provided by this website! The exit at Firenze Signa is no longer called that, it had changed to Scandicci exit over a year ago. This caused us to overshoot the exit and drive for an additional 40km before we could get back to Scandicci. This just causes undue stress when you are driving in a foreign country and rely soley on instructions provided to you.

Poggio Nardini offered the perfect setting for our large, extended family. An easy half hour train ride from Florence, the farmhouse is set in a idyllic, rural setting with lovely views of the countryside. (Be armed with protection from the mosquitoes however!) The farmhouse and other units are filled with simple but comfortable country style funiture and earthy antiques. Our entire stay was made memorable by the kindness and graciousness of our hosts.
