Large rooms all with their own spacious bathroom. The swimming pool was great for our group of 13, and the communal shaded outdoor area was perfect for bringing the group together around mealtimes. The hosts were very kind at arrival bringing a selection of very tasty food, and though we did not use any other services offered, there was much on offer (tours, guides, driver, food delivery). A great rustic slice of Lucca countryside, and very kid friendly (our group had kids of 2, 4, 5 and 12 year olds).

We spent a wonderful week in this beautiful villa in early Aug. I have no hesitation recommending Casa Gabriella to anyone looking to spend quality time in Tuscany. The villa has all anyone would require to ensure a relaxing holiday. Magnificent grounds surrounding the large pool. The nearest town of Montaione offers lovely restaurants, bars, and fabulous views over the countryside. All of this within easy drives of San Gimiagno, Sienna and the home home town of Andrea Bocelli, Lajatico. Next time we visit Italy we will certainly return to this beautiful place. We were really happy with our stay in San Donato, apartment really good, pool was excellent and surroundings as well! Due to the extreme warmth we'd love an ac and that is the only thing missing. We brought our own fans, they were much needed!
All in all, a really good week, everybody happy.

Peaceful, a lot of privacy, good size swimming pool, nice house with airconditioning in every room, fenced (large!) garden which is ideal with children, well equipped kitchen, fantastic!

Wir wohnten im Nebengebäude vom Schloss welches direkt an einer Straße lag. Insbesondere am Wochenende war an Schlaf kaum zu denken, da die Autos und Motorräder mit hoher Geschwindigkeit direkt am Fenster vorbeifuhren.
Zum Haus ist zu sagen, dass die Fotos den Zustand besser darstellen als es in Wirklichkeit ist. Die Austattung der Küche ist mäßig. Man sollte einiges von zu Hause mitbringen. Geschirrs ist nur 4-Fach vorhanden.
Pool und Außenanlage ist in Ordnung, aber wenig gepflegt.
Vor Ort ist fast ständig ein Büro für die Gäste besetzt, allerdings lässt die die Freundlichkeit sowie Hilfsbereitschaft zu wünschen übrig. Ein Lichtblick ist der GUISEPPE, der gutgelaunte Hausmeister des Anwesens.
Schade, wir hatten mehr erwartet. Nur, wer unbedingt mal in einem Schloss wohnen möchte, dem ist eine Buchung zu empfehlen, dann aber darauf achten, dass man nicht in einem der vielen Nebengebäude landet.

We lived in the outbuilding of the castle which was right on a street. Especially on the weekends sleep was hard to imagine, as the cars and motorcycles drove past the window at high speed.
To the house is to say that the photos represent the state better than it is in reality. The equipment of the kitchen is moderate. You should bring some pieces from your home. Dishes are only 4-fold available.
Pool and outdoor area is ok, but little maintained.
On-site there is almost always a reception open for the guests, but the friendliness and helpfulness left a lot to be desired. A bright spot is GIUSEPPE, the jovial caretaker of the property.
It is a pity, we expected more. Only, if you really want to live in a castle, a booking is recommended, but then make sure that you do not end up in one of the many outbuildings.
